TV Shows Reimagined: Storybook Favorites
I found a few storybooks that were inspired by popular TV shows. These were super exciting for me to read as I have personally watched the shows the individual stories were set in. These were very clever in terms of how the individual stories were structured. I am so jealous and hope to think of something for my own project that is as creative as these.
This storybook was based on Barney Stinson, a character from the TV show How I Met Your Mother. Barney was known to have a "playbook" containing different tactics he would use to woo women. The author of this storybook wrote the storybook from Barney's perspective using slang he would normally use such as "bro-cation" or "barnacles": this made the storybook very enjoyable for me. In the show, Barney would show the playbook and list his tactics as steps, which was what the author did in this storybook. The whole text is truly hilarious. The way the author phrases the story is very clever and very Barney. I am showing all my friends who watched the show as this is brilliant. Lowkey, I wish I would've thought of this idea.

This author tells the story based on the perspective of the TV series, Gossip Girl. It is a pretty popular show among teenagers. The storybook is very unique as it pertains to the audience as if the author was gossiping from a friend to another friend. It made me felt like I was talking to a teenager who loves to gossip. Reading it felt very informal and chill. I love that the author really nailed the Gossip Girl universe by ending every story with "you know you love me, XOXO gossip girl". The only thing I would change is to make the theme and design of the storybook more girly to be consistent with the text.

This specific storybook is very creative and well-illustrated along the theme of a crime scene investigation. The author used a notepad background for his story and added some crime scene evidence photos as well which was very suiting with the whole forensic investigation theme. The storybook even included evidence pictures made by the author as seen below! The stories are really unique. The text lists each story as a crime scene report with a who, when, where, how components.
